Concert on May 15th, 2008 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary!
Come celebrate with us God's glorious legacy of service through our congregation through a truly gala concert of symphonic music. This event will commemorate the actual charter date, May 15, 1858 of this historic and landmark congregation in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Dr. Andr? Strydom, our minister of music, will conduct the First Presbyterian Church Symphony Orchestra in classical pieces for symphony and choir. The second half of the concert will feature world renowned California jazz pianist, Jim Martinez, and our very own Jehovah Jazz Combo.
Following the concert in the Sanctuary, the audience is invited to our Sesquicentennial Birthday Party inside and on the grounds surrounding McColgan Hall.
Both the concert and party are free and open to the general public. See you there!

Drop-In Reunion, May 17th, 2008 from 3-5 pm
For our out of town guests, you won't want to miss this opportunity to stop by our Family Life Center (formerly the "Youth Building") for an informal get together of former members and friends. Refreshments will be served. Current members are also encouraged to attend. Docents will be available to lead a series of tours of the sanctuary and the Heritage Room.

Celebration Worship Service on May 18th, 2008 at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary!
This special service of worship will include our recently composed Sesquicentennial Hymn, by Dr. Strydom, with words by First Presbyterian Church Pastor, the Rev. W. Lee Kinney. Other special music for choir, hand bells and orchestra will feature a commissioned anthem composed by the talented and accomplished English musician, Paul Leddington Wright. Rev. Kinney will be preaching the celebratory sermon as we welcome back many former members, former ministers, and friends. Don't miss this opportunity to renew old friendships, reminisce, and rejoice in what God has done in and through our congregation's 150 years of service!

Sesquicentennial Special Guest Preachers Program
One of the amazing legacies of our congregation's faithfulness can be seen in the 19 men and woman who either grew up or were sponsored by this church family in full-time Christian ministry. From all corners of our nation's borders, these "children of the church" have agreed to return throughout the year to preach God's Word and to celebrate what together God has done to further the kingdom in this world. Check our regular "What's Happening" section of the web for weekly updates and schedules.
